An Analysis of Status for Support and Strategies for People with Disabilities in the COVID-19 Crisis: Based on WHO Recommendations

Abstract
This study aims to present the degree of compliance with the WHO recommendations and strategies through an analysis of the policy status for people with disabilities in South Korea during the COVID-19 crisis. Understanding the level of compliance with WHO recommendations during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, actors could use these results as a foundation for establishing more effective policies in the COVID-19 situation. The research method is based on recommendations from the WHO. Specific recommendations were collected and analyzed from January 2020 to June 2021 by disabled persons and their families, governments, medical institutions, service provider, social welfare facilities and community areas. As for the COVID-19 Strategy and Response Plan, the government needs to come up with measures to strengthen access to public medical information. Also in the case of the institutional settings need to take the measures to reduce exposure to Covid-19 and prevent mass infection. Conclusion: Based on these results researchers identified the degree of compliance with the WHO recommendations and presented a strategy and response plan.
